Frequently asked questions

What paper and ink do I need?

Any regular inkjet or laser printer works. For real checks, print on blank check stock (sold at office supply stores and online), letter size, with the check on the top, middle or bottom, or 3 per page. Banks prefer magnetic (MICR) toner for the bank line, and many accept regular black ink too. Already have pre-printed checks? Switch to “Pre-printed checks” and only the payee, amount, date and memo print.

Where can I buy blank check paper?

Blank check stock, letter size (8.5 × 11 in) with the check on top, which matches our layout. Any regular laser or inkjet printer works. Some banks prefer magnetic (MICR) toner for the bank line, but most accept checks printed with regular toner or ink; if you're not sure, ask your bank.

Will my bank accept these checks?

Checks you print yourself are legal and widely used by businesses. Quick Check Writer prints the standard E-13B bank line (MICR) with your routing and account numbers in the right place. Acceptance is up to your bank, so print one test check and ask your bank, especially if you plan to use regular ink instead of magnetic toner.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your companies, bank numbers, payees and check history stay on your device and are never uploaded. Your account only holds how you sign in (your name and email). Use Export backup under Setup to copy your data to another device.

How does the free check work?

Your first check prints clean, with no watermark. After that you can keep writing, printing and sharing checks for free; they carry a “SAMPLE – NOT VALID” watermark until you subscribe.

How do I cancel?

Anytime. On the website, open your account menu › Billing & Subscription › “Manage / Cancel subscription” (or go to quickcheckwriter.com/cancel), or use the link in your receipt email. If you bought in our Android app (Google Play), cancel in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. No contract and no cancellation fee.

How do I import my checks into QuickBooks?

With Pro, open Register and tap “Export Checks to QuickBooks”. Pick the bank account and dates and download the file. In QuickBooks Online go to Bank transactions › Link account › Upload from file and choose the file. For QuickBooks Desktop, export the .IIF file and use File › Utilities › Import › IIF Files. Is there an app?
